the process of making magical feed
Fermented feed（発酵飼料）, which is one of our ODOP products, is one of the most surprising products. Do you know what is fermented?? For example, as you know cheese is made of milk, but we can say, milk is fermented to be cheese by micro-organism such as bacteria. Because of micro-organism, pure cheese can keep around 20years. Yogurt is also the same. Our products made fermented feed by rice bran.
We support farmers in a village of Saravanh province in Laos, and they agriculture with fish for getting to eat insect in the field and one the same time fish can grow up and finally it’s gonna be feed for them. But they have a problem. Normally fish can’t grow up enough only with insect, so they have to feed fish food, but it’s too expensive for them, moreover we can’t find around their place, so they can’t buy. In the result, fish can’t grow up.
Our project gave a solution by Magical Feed, fermented feed by rice bran. If farmer, everyone can access to this material, and if they know the way, everyone can make this fermented feed, and if they have rice bran, everyone can increase the amount of the fermented feed forever (just put the rice bran into only fermented feed coz micro-organism recomposes it into fermented feed in the world we can’t see). And this fermented feed can help “digest”, which means fish can be fat.
After introducing this magical feed, a famer, who can grow fish only as their own food, could sell 300Kg of fish.
For my future as social worker, I’m studying this Magical feed and later I will try to make by myself. And some day I by myself also help famer by this experience and knowledge.
